Information for all clients before, during and after attending an appointment at Boo hair.
Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic Boo hair is having to adopt a different approach in how hairdressing services are executed at the salon. The changes will need to be adopted by both Boo hair and its clients who require hair services at the salon for the foreseeable future. The primary reasons, which are detailed later in the information, are to ensure my own health and well-being, as well as the health of all persons who come to the salon. Boo hair will require every client to follow a set of guidelines to ensure safety at all times before, during and after the appointment to reduce the spread of the coronavirus infection.
Health and Safety procedures at Boo hair in direct response to stopping the spread of the coronavirus and safe guarding clients whilst having hair services at the salon.
I have received both Covid-19 vaccinations and have passed a Covid-19 certification on hygiene on 5/6/2020 and have carried out a full risk assessment of the premises.
In addition, all hairdressing stations, hair washing basins, equipment and amenities will be sanitised between clients.
All clients will be required to have a temperature check taken before any service can commence.
All protective clothing worn during your hair service will be one client use only, e.g Gowns and towels.
What is required in the lead up to an appointment at Boo hair?
Every client who has an appointment booked at the salon will be phoned 48hrs before their appointment as a reminder of the appointment booked, which will include the day and time. If you have not had a reminder phone call but you think that you have an appointment please check your appointment card first to ensure that you have the right day regarding your query before calling the salon. As errors can occur from time to time, if in doubt please call to establish the correct information. Please contact me after you have exhausted all other means of reference as this will be an extremely busy period at the salon. The best way to contact the salon for the quickest response is via the phone on 01656-663188. If you do not receive a reply, then please leave a brief message along with your name and number and I will return your call as soon as possible. Please be patient if your call is not returned promptly and please do not leave messages via social media regarding any queries in relation to the making or the canceling of appointments, again due to the busy period these platforms will not be checked regularly.
Due to the extended duration of time between colouring services at the salon, I have been advised by my colouring manufacturer to skin test all clients that currently have on the scalp colour application, this is due to the possible heightened sensitivity/reaction that people may experience due to the systemic influences of the coronavirus pandemic period. I will be carrying out a consultation via the phone with all clients who currently have any type of colouring service before the appointment day, this will help me gather information which will enable me to assess the best service type and offer alternative ideas, if required. If other applications of colour have been applied to your hair during the shut down a consultation will be required before further applications of professional colour can be applied. This may result in a change to colouring technique/application method.
48 Hours before your appointment
During the 48 hr period before your appointment at Boo hair, if you find you have any symptoms detailed below that may relate to the coronavirus you must cancel your appointment.
Check if you need coronavirus medical help
The main symptoms of coronavirus are:
A high temperature. This means you feel hot to touch on your chest or back (you do not need to measure your temperature)
A new, continuous cough: this means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours (if you usually have a cough, it may be worse than usual)
A loss or change to your sense of smell or taste: this means you've noticed you cannot smell or taste anything, or things smell or taste different to normal
If you develop one of these symptoms, you should:
follow the self-isolation guidance
apply for a coronavirus test
The COVID-19 online symptom checker (on NHS 111 Wales) can tell you if you need medical help.
Do not go to a GP surgery, pharmacy or hospital. Only call 111 if the symptom checker advises you to do so.

No appointment will be made or actioned without this consent.
Changes to prices of appointments at Boo hair
Due to following the above guidelines and extended appointment times required to carry out such instructions, your first appointment for cutting will need a longer appointment time and incur a restyle charge. All colouring services will be classed as a recolouring service/colour correction service. These services will require more time and product to execute and, therefore, carry additional costs. Advertised prices are a guide only. Your understanding of this is much appreciated. Please enquire at the time of booking.
Subsequent appointments will also carry an additional charge whilst government guidelines and additional time for safeguarding against viral infection continue to be implemented.
The client loyalty reward point system which is in place at Boo hair (points that you collect for services that you have purchased at the salon) will continue; however, the redeeming of points for services will be suspended until further notice. The ability of clients to redeem points will be reinstated in the near future and all points collected will be honoured.
I look forward to welcoming everyone back to Boo hair.
